Are you looking for something different?
Then it’s time to jump on a Super Jeep, strap on your crampons and step into the mighty Myrdalsjokull glacier and visit the ice cave under the volcano tour from Reykjavik.
Mother Nature has really outdone herself with this one, the movie-like surroundings and glaciers everywhere you look and grand ice walls you walk along to enter the magical blue and black ice cave of the outlet glacier named after the powerful volcano Katla. Prepare to be amazed!
About the area:
Myrdalsjokull glacier is one of the best-known glaciers in Iceland, it feeds the glacier hiking paradise, Solheimajokull, and from it, the alluring Kotlujokull is named after the robust Icelandic Volcano Katla and is home to some of Iceland’s most impressive natural ice caves. On this exhilarating Super Jeep tour, you will get to explore the wonders of this stunning natural phenomenon. You will see why as soon as you step in!
The tour will start in Reykjavík and take you along the enchanting south coast. You will pass charming little towns and rivers with mountains on one side and sea on the other before reaching Vik. There the last participants will be picked up and we keep on going east until making an unexpected turn to the left side off the ring road one and onto a rural road only passable by our Super Jeeps. The vista is stunning with mountains and glaciers all around and the trails just get rougher and tougher. The drive is a true adventure and the landscape is truly astonishing!
Pick-up starts at 09.00. Please note that you will need to list your preferred pick-up location when you book your tour.
