Ice cave and snowmobiles sound like a great day!

Your snowmobile and ice cave adventure starts when we pick you up in Reykjavik. Our drive takes us through the beautiful South Iceland countryside to our snowmobile base camp at Langjokull Glacier.

Your certified glacier guide will provide overalls, helmets and all the gear you need. The guide will also give you a safety briefing and a few straightforward snowmobile driving instructions. You are then ready to ride – operating a snowmobile is easy but feel free to ask any questions before you roar off. The beautiful one-hour snowmobile ride will take you across Langjokull Glacier, the second largest glacier in Iceland. It’s hard to explain the experience of driving a snowmobile on a glacier. What we can tell you is that you will feel your adrenaline soar and the excitement in your body! When getting closer to the ice cave, you will feel your spine tingle in anticipation.

All ice caves are unique, but some are more special than others! This year our Langjökull Ice Cave is a spellbinding stunner. We promise you that this is the best ice cave to display the most amazing bright jewel blue ice imaginable. The ice-ceiling above you resembles a brilliant blue river; so translucent is the ice. The ice around this ‘blue river´ is white and very unusual subtle gray ‘zebra striping.’ Those stripes formed from the ash layers of various volcanic eruptions. You get 15 to 20 minutes to explore and photograph the cave.

Outside, your trusty snowmobile is waiting. Skimming across Langjökull, you journey back to the Snowmobile Base Camp.  At the end of your spectacular full day snowmobile and ice cave adventure, we will drive you back to Reykjavík, dropping you off where we picked you up.
