Way up north

We love the northern part of Iceland. It’s not a day tour from Reykjavik, but if you are heading out and about Iceland, you should visit Lake Myvatn and the nearby area, you won’t regret it. You can explore Grjotagja, underground natural geothermal pool, see the Geysers in Namaskard or hike up on Hverfjall, an old volcano that sits majestically overlooking the lake.

If you hit the road, it takes you around 45 min to drive to Dettifoss, One of Iceland’s most thrilling waterfalls, Ásbyrgi, where the myth says that Sleipnir, the horse of Thor stepped down when carrying Thor around the galaxy and Husavik, the whale watching capital of Iceland.
